I love Stephen De Vight‘s photographs of burning light filaments.
Genius. Great work by Charlie Rouse on tenor too
Conrad Shawcross is, for me, one of the most interesting and innovative artists around. He creates mechanical sculptures “based on philosophical and scientific ideas“. He enlists the help of scientists to develop and build his machines. Shawcross’ works include small gallery installations; larger public sculptures (e.g. “Space Trumpet” at Unilever House, London); and vast pieces such as Chord, created in the disused Kingsway Tram Tunnel at Holborn. He is another artist that I hope will be given the Tate Turbine Hall commission at some time in the future.
Spend some time at his website which includes a lot of photos and videos of his work.
