This is not a blog about me (well not directly anyway). It is instead a place where I can post links to articles and websites I like, in particular the work of photographers. It is a place where I can record my comments on books, films, music that I like (and don’t like). I have a passion for the arts in its various forms and often found myself sending links to websites or recommendations for books or cds to friends. This blog enables me to put all of those in one place where I, and others, can be reminded as and when we want.

I have discovered so many interesting works from browsing other blogs. I hope that this will do the same for others. I encourage people who read this site to comment and advise on other artists, photographers, cds, books etc that they think are worth checking out.

Why “White Noise of Everyday Life”? It comes from Robert Hughes’ programme The New Shock of the New in which he talks about the mass of images, noises etc around us all the time and the need to be able to cut through this to find what is really worth finding. That’s what I hope this blog will help do.

Finally, if I have used an image here which you own without permission and you wish for them to be taken down please email me or post a comment and I will remove the image immediately. My aim is not commercial; I simply wish to share work that I admire.
